About Kirby Muxloe Archery Club

The current target-archery club dates back to 1978 when the Kirby Muxloe Village Sports Club wrote to the Leicestershire and Rutland County Archery Association to enquire whether an archery club could be formed in Kirby Muxloe, to complement the sports already on offer.

This new club rose from the ‘ashes’ of an earlier Kirby Muxloe club that had folded some 20 to 30 years earlier and was very family-orientated. The current club remains so today.

Recognising that people shoot for pleasure, we cater for those archers for whom shooting is simply a weekly relaxation or family evening out, through to those who aspire to shoot competitively. We have a thriving junior section who meet every Saturday morning.

Most of our members shoot recurve bows but we have a growing number of members shooting Compound, Bare Bow and Longbow.
